Fikret has an extensive background in Civil & Environmental Engineering. He earned his M.S. in 2006 and his PhD in 2019 from Georgia Tech. His expertise spans foundation engineering, geotechnical earthquake engineering, and advanced numerical modeling. Before beginning his doctoral studies, he served as a geotechnical practice leader and advanced the application of cone penetration testing and ground-penetrating radar.

His PhD research examined the heat-transfer characteristics of shallow thermo-active foundations. His contributions have been recognized with honors including the Jean-Lou Chameau Research Excellence Award, and he has served as a U.S. delegate at international engineering conferences. At Filio, Fikret draws on his deep industry knowledge to help guide strategic direction as an advisory board member.
